Bad Kleinkirchheim is at an average elevation of 1,087 m in a 5 km  stretch of a glacial trough valley in the Gurktal Alps (Nock Mountains), between the Millstätter See and the upper Gurk River.

State-of-the-art infrastructure ensures easy access to the valley even in winter.

In snowy conditions, snow chains may be required for all vehicles.

All vehicles are required to have winter tyres in Austria from 1 November to 15 April.

A toll sticker (Autobahn-Vignette) is required for motorways.
